A position asnpostdoc in radiation physics is vacant at the research group of thenLaboratory of Radiation Physics, Research Unit of Oncology,nInstitute of Clinical Research.
n
n The position will be either one 2-year fulltime position or twon2-year halftime positions.
n
n The postdoc will be expected to carry out research on thenpossibility to extract toxicity information from Cone Beam CTnimages (see Radiother Oncol 2011 100 351-355). The work involvesnextraction of 3D image information from Cone Beam images andnregistration of the information with the delivered dosendistribution. Extraction of image information is dependent on highnquality images, thus optimization of images is part of the work.nThe optimisation could be related to optimisation of acquisitionnparameters or new image reconstruction algorithms (iterative and ornscatter correcting algorithms). Development of models describingnthe expected toxicity based on the Cone Beam images will be annimportant part of the research. Statistical analysis of modelnestimates and clinical outcome are essential in the research, andnwill be performed in close cooperation with medical doctors andnPh.D. students. The postdoc will be expected to be involved in thensupervision of master and Ph.D. students related to the Laboratorynof Radiation Physics. The postdoc will also be expected to benactively involved in writing applications for research grantsnrelated to the Laboratory of Radiation physics.
