Masterclass “Personnel Dosimetry – two steps ahead”
Online event this Tuesday, Mar 9, 2021 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM CET
Everybody is highly welcome, free of charge.
It is unquestioned that staff in high dose situations, like fluoroscopy, needs occupational dosimetry. A poorly thought-out approach, however, might be worse than doing nothing as it might lead the staff to a false sense of security. We will deepen our consideration of dosimetry types, in particular the pros and cons of active electronic dosimeters and discuss the strong effect different wearing positions of the dosimeters have. At this point it is time to have a look at the dosimetry of the lens of the eye. Its radiation sensitivity is under debate, but how to assess the dose to this organ reasonably? To round the session up, we will briefly have a look at the people asked to wear dosimeters, realize their at least partly existing reluctance, and think about how to motivate them to cooperate. A concept for reasonably use with limited resources should be established.
