ICRP Free the Annals - status
25. maj 2021 - Ivanka Sojat TarpOn 1 January 2020, the fruits of our collective labour came to fruition. On that date, all but the most recent two-years of ICRP Publications became free-to-access for anyone around the world who needed them.
If you look at the chart below, you can see that as soon as 2020 hit, the downloads skyrocketed. In total, we had almost 215,000 downloads around the world in 2020 compared to 55,000 and 84,000 in 2018 and 2019 respectively. That is huge!
I am also happy to report that many of these additional downloads were from countries who historically, weren't able to access our work as easily.
Going forward, at the beginning of January every year, forever, ICRP Publications released two years prior will become automatically free-to-access, and it's because of you.
Thank you for supporting us then, and thank you for supporting us now. Because of that support, we are confident we will have similar success as we embark on our journey to update the System of Radiological Protection for the next generation.
Feel free to share this information with your organisation.
As always, should you ever need anything from ICRP, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Yours sincerely,
Kelsey
