The Acta Oncologica 50th Anniversary Symposium

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the Acta Oncologica 50th Anniversary Symposium, which will take place at Schæffergården, Copenhagen, on 4-5 September 2013.

Through the past 50 years Acta Oncologica has established a key position in the dissemination of cancer research in the Nordic countries. TheActa Oncologica 50th Anniversary Symposium have attracted leading cancer researchers based in the Nordic countries to present results fromfrontline research, to discuss the future possibilities of Nordic cancer research and hopefully facilitate the establishment of new Nordiccollaborations in cancer research.

Key topics at the symposium will be:

  • From data to daily bedside treatment ― Speakers include: H Grønberg (SE) and H Joensuu (FI)
  • Biobank initiatives that change treatment concepts ― T Sjöblom (SE), AL Børresen-Dale (NO), Å Helland (NO), and TF Ørntoft (DK)
  • Nordic initiatives in prognostics, prediction and clinical studies ― O Kallioniemi (FI), K Schmiegelow (DK), H Bauer (SE), and JH Olsen (DK)
  • Turning the Nordic cancer registries into one powerhouse for research ― Speakers include: P Stattin (SE), M Borre (DK), and G Ursin (NO)
  • The future of Nordic cancer research ― Speakers include: PE Lönning (NO), J Olsen (DK), and M Melbye (DK)

The price of the symposium is EUR350 including lunches and an anniversary dinner in the beautiful settings of Schæffergården.

Young Scientists’ Workshop 3-4 Sep

In order to further strengthen future Nordic collaborations in cancer research, the symposium will offer a Young Scientists’ Workshop aimedspecifically to the leading cancer researchers of tomorrow. This workshop will take place at Schæffergården on 3-4 September 2013.
